Do you feel like Pantene Shampoo/Conditioner give you back acne?

If you rinse your hair and the conditioner runs down your back and stays on your back, it can clog pores because it has a lot of oils in it. Just like if you put conditioner or any other hair product on your face, it can cause breakouts.

Sometimes, if I don't rinse my hair really well and I have trace amounts of conditioner still in it, I get sits on my temple because that's where my hair touches. Maybe its TMI, but it is true.

So try and rinse your hair the best you can, and wash your back too.

4 Simple Tips to Treat Back Acne

1. Wear Loose Cotton Clothing

Breathing materials such as cotton are ideal for those with poor skin conditions in the back. Cotton is a breathing material that allows a good flow of air through and does not isolate the body in a perspiration heat trap. This circulation of air is enhanced if the shirt is not fitting tight on the body.

Also, always wear clean clothes as acne-prone skin will be sensitive to bacteria that has accumulated in worn clothing.

2. Wash Immediately After Exercising

If you are physically active - especially in warm and hot weather - it is very advantageous if you are able to wash immediately after exercising. Allowing sweat and bacteria to linger in your back can worsen your existing skin condition. When you wash, take care to exfoliate the skin so as to remove dead skin cells that reside at the surface and are susceptible to clog skin pores.

3. Avoid Backpacks

The constant friction and increased heat caused by wearing a backpack makes them a very bad idea for people with back acne - particularly during the summer. When possible, use any other kind of bag or buy a well built backpack that is designed to allow the back to breathe. These backpacks will leave a space between the back and most of the bag's surface. Try getting one at an outdoors or sports' shop.

4. Treat Your Back With Home Remedies

There are many home remedies for acne. A white (softer) or green (stronger) clay mask a few times a week can be a wonderful treatment. Use aloe vera gel after the clay mask so as to re-hydrate the skin. If you dry up the skin too much, this may further complicate your situation as the body is likely to respond by secreting more oil for the skin.
