Is it bad for dogs to be bathed with pantene shampoo?

i have no clue what to do i have no dog shampoo.

p.s-pantene is human shampoo..Is it bad for dogs to be bathed with pantene shampoo?
try baby shampoo johnsons so your dog wont tear from shampoo in eyesIs it bad for dogs to be bathed with pantene shampoo?
Yes, generally speaking, human shampoos and hair care products will dry a dogs skin and fur out. Their oils and such are different than ours. Your local pet store or vet should be able to recommend the correct shampoo, some are even breed or coat type specific.

It can work in a pinch or emergency but prolonged use will cause skin problems along with several trips and payments to the vet. Bottle for bottle pet shampoo may be more expensive than the human kind but we buy several bottles in the same amount of time that 1 of theirs last.

Stay away from the generic, mass marketed ones at your local department store. Go to a pet store and plunk down the $10, $15 or more and get a good shampoo. It's well worth it.
its bad for the dogs to not get any baths at all

If you have no dog shampoo, make a very very diluted version of this human shampoo. (just enough to bubble) and use that.

Human shampoo has a lot of detergent and it will dry out the dogs hair.

Sometimes children will bathe their animals themselves and not know this.

The dogs hair just gets frizzes stand out and they look horrible.

The only way to fix this is to give them a conditioner only bath.

So maybe you can do that. Just use conditioners, no human shampoo.
It should be fine as long as you rinse the dog thoroughly. My cousin used to show dogs, and a lot of the show people would use Silkience shampoo on their dogs, and Queen Helene conditioner. I have bathed many dogs with human shampoo and it has never bothered any of them. Like I said, just rinse, rinse, rinse.
Yeah it's okay but if you bathe him in that regularly he can get sick. There are dog shampoos in pet stores specialized for dog's coat. I use Tropiclean on my pomeranian and it makes him smell really good plus it's shampoo+conditioner for only eleven bucks.
dont use human shampoo. wait till you can get the dog/puppy shampoo or borrow some baby shampoo from a neighbour.

Don't even use it once, it will dry your dogs fur and skin and cause it to become sore, and have an allergic reaction.
Not REALLY bad, but they can get itchy skin, and they definitely shed more. Ooooh, do they shed more. If you don't have any dog shampoo right now, it's okay to bathe them once with people shampoo. Just don't make a habit of it.
No, i bathe my dog witjh human shampoo too, what u need tp do is to put cotton on his ears so he doesnt get shampoo inside his ears. Be careful with his eyes and mouth. You should try to bath him with a baby shampoo.. its better
maybe because dogs have different hair structure.

some dogs maybe get irritated when human shampoo is applied in their skin.

in the first place why should you use a human shampoo where in fact dogs have their own brand of shampoo.
You should never use human shampoo on any animal. You should use a product made specifically for dogs. If you want the best results, talk to your vetrinarian about the best shampoo for your dog.
Yes...don't was Fido with Pantene. It will strip all the natural/protective oils off her/his skin and irritate. Use something with oatmeal and conditioner instead. Oh, and make sure it doggy shampoo.
Yes my kitty kat experienced this she lost a lot of hair on here tail area because i used human shampoo on her

and she would scratch and i noticed her skin looked irritated but i started using dog shampoo and she healed right up
its not bad but its not good ether its most better to use pet shampoo but if u think about it most products are tested on animals... :( but ya
Lol, aww, I feel sorry for you doggie (^.^). Uhm...I really think it is bad for doggies. Although it might not show what effect it has on them, I still think that's not a good idea.
it should be fine just this one time. just don't do it again. you can even get dog shampoo from the dollar store
Yes - the chemicals from human to dog shampoo are different and can greatly irritate their skin

usually a baby shampoo (tearless) is fine..
go out and buy dog shampoo.....why do you have a dog if you do not have the materials to care for it?
Yes

If you have no clue and your dog NEEDS a bath before you can go buy dog shampoo then just use warm water.
I dont think so..but you should get more 411

bout it ..just to make sure so nothing bad happens to yewr dog or who evers
No not bad for the animal...human hair...well different story but..it should work until u get some
no i don't think it's advisable. lol

he'll start saying ';don't hate me because I'm beeootiful' in a brritish accent, haha...
A dog trainer I know. Only uses that and the conditioner on her service dogs.
I wouldnt bathe them at all.... if you bathe them they will get more smelly eventually. I never bathed my dog in its entire life and it never smelled... (only when it died lol)
Your dog should be bathed in pet shampoo, not Pantene.
if it says that they didn't test it on animals, that doesn't mean you should.
I don't think it would matter. It might dry their skin out a bit, but that's all. It's won't kill them or anything.
they just need their natural oils mainly for their skin, so too much soap is bad too often
...its not bad, just a waste of perfectly good shampoo. haha.
yes it is.... Thats for HUMANS why dont you go to the store and buy DOG shampoo...
well, it can't be good, but IDK!
Ummm.... If u dont have any dog shampoo, BUY SUM!!!!

It probly shoodnt matter, but if u luv ur pet, dont risk it.
